to removable appliances
- Wear
this brace AT ALL TIMES except when you clean your teeth
or if you play a contact sport such as rugby.
- It
will take 3 days of perseverance in learning how to eat
and speak. If you cannot wear it please let me know.
- If
one of the attachments breaks try to keep the appliance
in your mouth until your next appointment otherwise the
teeth will drift back to their old positions. Do not wear
a broken appliance while eating.
- Keep
the appliance clean using a toothbrush after meals and when
you clean your teeth.
- Remember
that you should continue to visit you own dentist for regular
check-ups during your orthodontic treatment.
Removable
appliances lost or damaged beyond repair
If
your National Health appliance is lost or broken beyond repair
you will have to pay up to £58.20 for its replacement.
(This charge also applies if an appliance does not fit after
a period of not wearing it.)
Lost retainers
The
clear vacuum formed retainers can be replaced under private
contract for £41 (£55 for upper and lower).
